Hi, my name is Matt and I’m a tutor based in Brooklyn, New York. I specialize in literacy and emerging literacy, but I have taught everything from High School Economics to Kindergarten Math. I am a life long learner, a future clinical social worker, and an active musician. As an educator my greatest passion is helping foster a genuine love of learning in all of my students. Whether it’s a high school student who needs help with a college essay or a kindergartner who wants to learn to write their first song, I would love to work with you.

Therapeutic Tutoring and Students with Disabilities

As a former student with ADHD I believe strongly in holistic education. Many students fail to thrive despite a natural talent and curiosity. As a tutor I use my concurrent education in social work to help students develop the soft skills they need to thrive in school and beyond.

As an educator I believe in a discursive model of education. Whether I am leading a class of 30 or working one on one, I work to make sure my students develop critical and analytical skills that move beyond the bubble of multiple choice.
